Draft Program
1. Example – the sitting tenants problem in Slovakia development, actual situation, potential ways out
2. Comparison of the sitting tenants problem in CEE countries (evaluation of the questionnaire) Is there space for common actions at the international scene in order to push the respective authorities to look for fair solutions?
3. Cooperation with international organizations To what extend can international cooperation move us forward? What are the proper instruments? Do national authorities respect pressure from outside?
4. The Slovenian case and its implication to other countries, legal means utilizable in favor of the tenants Does the Lisbon Treaty provide new opportunities? What with countries that did not ratify Art 31 and Additional Protocol of the RESC.
5. Social status of a sitting tenant Is a merely fact that one is a sitting tenant substantially affecting the social status of the affected person? If yes, what to do with this discrimination? Can international organizations like the EU, CoE and others help us?
